• WORKSHOPS

  • I've run a number of workshops in France and abroad, generally for student photographers, as in Dubai and Cyprus, amateur club photographers and secondary school pupils interested in photography in general.

  • Depending on the expectations and availability of the participants, these workshops take place in two parts: the first part is rather didactic, during which I try to teach the trainees what is known as the photographer's 'eye', using some of my photographs to highlight techniques such as symmetry, working with shadows, low angle shots, cultural references and the language of the image. These activities place a strong emphasis on communication.

  • During the second part of the workshop, the practical work, we move to a location suitable for street photography and I leave the students free to photograph what they find interesting, trying to apply the instructions given earlier, or I give them one or two themes to work on. Then the group comes together to share their work, with projections, comments and suggestions.
